Antakshari - The Great Challenge is an Indian television singing competition show, which aired on STAR One. It was directed by veteran director Gajendra Singh and formatted and written by Thought Vendors. Due to its success, the show aired its second season on STAR Plus channel.

Antakshari - The Great Challenge It has had a successful run on STAR One and is now shifting in its new avtar on STAR Plus. The series is a Kid’s Special entitled Antakshari – The Great Challenge Little Stars.
Here, we see kids from different states representing their respective zones and pairing up to form a team and playing against the other teams to come out the winner. The rounds are built around the songs, each round blending into each other, allowing fun elements at the same time keeping the competitive streak through the game format.
Antakshari is a musical game played in India. The word is derived from two roots: Ant - meaning End Akshar - meaning letter of the alphabet. The idea of the game is to start singing the first two lines of a Hindi film song. The game can be played by two or more people and is particularly popular as a group activity during commutes, bus rides etc. The singer has to sing two complete lines and then she/he may stop at the end of those or following lines. The last Hindi letter of the last word sung is then used by the next singer to sing another song, starting with that letter.
